A Steek, New Knitting Book, Where my projects are headed in 2026

Talk about coming down to the wire! I’ve got three different sourdough projects on the go and wow, that’s put a vast amount of pressure on my executive function skills ;). We’ll see where that goes in 2026. I repurposed the studio vlog footage for the intro as I really love the Auld Lang Syne song…forgive me for cutting a few corners. I haven’t really been filming as the house is in a bit of a state due in part to our water heater giving up the ghost right before Christmas. But Rob is on it and I’m hopeful for hot water in January.

In this episode I’m going to share the book Nordic Sailors’ and Fisherman’s Sweaters  by Lotte Rahbek and Gitte Verner Jensen and up date you on my Yell steek.

Happy New Year and see you very soon in 2026!

The past few weeks have been deliciously cold and snowy. We are iced in for the winter but not before I was able to grab some excellent footage of four otters. I was so thrilled to have these four visiting over four days. I hope they take up residence here.

In this episode, I get reacquainted with a book in my library, detail some projects in process and highlight the progress on knitting.

A Retreat, Making My Own Watercolors & Knitting

Hello All,

I found myself a bit caught up in work this past week and my filming and editing schedule didn’t align. It’s been a rigorous fall for me at work and I’ve been devoting a vast amount of creative capital to those tasks. But I’m still feeling inspired and am especially excited about the festivities associated with our families Christmas celebrations.

In this episode I highlight the retreat I recently took with my friend Emily, who you may know as Fibretown (she use to have a great spinning and knitting podcast) and Jessie who is Sara Bauer’s younger sister, an amazing maker and baker! We spent four days together in Vermont not only crafting, knitting and enjoying good food but also honoring the connection we all had to Sara of Yarns at Yin Hoo. It was a soulful time for certes.

Rhinebeck was extraordinary BUT…it didn’t leave anytime for knitting or other endeavors. If you came to see me, thank you. It was a pleasure to meet you in person and to receive such kind, generous feedback. My heart is full.

The Elevenses Backpack, Rhinebeck, Knitting & A New Name

Well, I finally did it. I’ve long been contemplating a name change as my vlog has shifted and changed over the past few years. I explain the name and its origins which has a call back to my beloved Orkney but theres also some Tolkien thrown in there too. No surprise! I also chat about my elevenses progress as well as Rhinebeck plans. There’s a little bit of knitting…but more to come in the studio vlog forthcoming. I hope this finds you well and in good spirits.

Cyanotypes, Spinning Haunui Wool & New Yarn

I’m embracing the cool fall weather and getting inspired by my wool spinning stash. The Haunui wool I received as a gift is an absolute delight and there’s a few new skeins of spindrift too. 😉

I hope this finds you well and in good spirits.
